Black Sheep Par 4 19th

Today GPW brings you the par 4 19th hole at Black Sheep. The hole measures 411 yards from the back tee.

The 19th plays from the highest point on the property, away from the clubhouse, and down to the green. The fairway is wider than any other offered at Black Sheep, easily 90 yards across. Most of the room is right, so there is no reason to flirt with the fairway bunkers left.

The green is wide, but shallow, and bisected by a huge ridge in the middle. The flag location in the picture is on the lower tier. There is a hidden creek that runs directly in front of the green, 10 yards short. With the flag located in the front left portion of the green, the correct play is to take an extra club, play the ball past the hole, taking the water out of play, and use the slope of the green to funnel the ball to the hole.

The right hand side of the green is dominated by two bunkers, while the left hand side is wide open. Generally, greens at Black Sheep are bunkered like that; there is one side that you cannot miss on, while the other side offers a bail out area.
