The 18th measures 463 yards and bends slightly to the left. The movement of the surrounding land is gentle, not nearly as severe as some of land found on other parts of the course.

While the fairway is wide, the left side offers the preferred line off the tee. A wicked bunker, shown in the second picture, winds its way up the left hand portion of the hole. It must be avoided at all costs. While a drive away from the bunker, to the right side, is safe, it adds considerable distance to the hole, which is already long.

The difficulty of the approach depends mainly on the location of the flag. The right side of the green is open and relatively flat. A flag here is a green light. However, a flag tucked back left brings a small pot bunker in front of the green into play. Furthermore, a severe slope left of the bunker will repel golf shots faster than GPW repels women.

From behind the green, Ballyneal's 18th looks almost tranquil and offers a fitting test to the end a world class day of golf.
