Old Head Par 5 17th

Today GPW brings you the par 5 17th at Old Head, a hole measuring 623 yards from the back tee.

The 17th plays alongside the ocean the entire way. It is a nutso golf hole. This picture was taken from behind the green, which sits hard by the cliffs and ocean. The green isn't visible until the third shot. The approach is launched into the heavens from the extreme right edge of the photo. You can see a golfer standing in the fairway from where the third shot is played. From this position, the green is well over 100 feet below the player, its width only 24 paces wide. In high winds, anything can happen on the third shot at the 17th, including rinsing one in the ocean.
